Pakistan’s Official Jersey for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Unveiled

Pakistan Unveil Official Jersey

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday officially unveiled the men’s national team jersey for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, ending days of anticipation among fans ahead of the global event.

The new kit first grabbed attention during Pakistan’s third and final T20I against Australia at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, where captain Salman Ali Agha was seen wearing it during the post-match proceedings. The PCB later confirmed the design through an official unveiling campaign.

Markhor-inspired design

The jersey features a light green base, layered with darker green patterns forming the image of Pakistan’s national animal, the Markhor — a symbol of resilience and strength.

PCB has named the kit the “Vanguard Markhor Edition”, highlighting the aggressive yet composed identity the team aims to carry into the T20 World Cup.

The unveiling was accompanied by a 24-second promotional video, starring captain Agha alongside senior players Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi, which was shared across the board’s digital platforms.

Timing linked to World Cup clarity

The announcement came just minutes after the Government of Pakistan confirmed the national team’s participation in the 20-team tournament, scheduled to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8.

However, the government also clarified that Pakistan will not take the field for its group-stage match against India on February 15, citing policy reasons.

“The Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan grants approval to the Pakistan Cricket Team to participate in the ICC World T20 2026; however, the team shall not take the field in the match scheduled on 15th February 2026 against India,” the official statement said.

Postponement now explained

Last week, the PCB had postponed the jersey unveiling due to what it described as “unavoidable circumstances.” Sources later revealed that the board initially planned to reveal the kit following the toss of the second T20I against Australia in Lahore.

The delay was largely attributed to uncertainty surrounding Pakistan’s participation in the tournament — uncertainty that has now been resolved.

Neutral venues for Pakistan

Under an existing ICC arrangement, Pakistan will play its World Cup fixtures at neutral venues, with Sri Lanka set to host Pakistan’s matches during the tournament.

With the kit now officially revealed and participation confirmed, Pakistan’s focus will shift fully towards preparations for the T20 World Cup, as fans get their first clear visual of how the Men in Green will look on the global stage.
